Surprise Brinky Bowl Champion

I admit I’m surprised at Commissioner Goodell’s decision to simply cancel the NFL playoffs after only three games this past weekend, but who am I to question the rulers of football?  Didn’t we amend the Constitution a couple years ago to ban criticism of the NFL entirely?  I think we did.  Nevertheless, I have had to scramble to come up with a way to determine the winner of the 2012 Brinky Bowl under these circumstances. Here’s what I did:

  • Of the three games played, Marcus missed two, Mario and I each missed one, and Jenny, Lisa and Tara were all 3-for-3.  So I decided that, of the three perfect ladies, the winner would be the one whose projected total points for all three games was closest to the total scored.
  • The total for the Bengals/Texans, Lions/Saints and Falcons/Giants games was 140 points.
  • With a projected total of 90 points–off by 50–Lisa finishes third.
  • With a projected total of 132 points–off by 8–Tara finishes second.
  • And with a projected total of 147–off by 7–Jenny is the winner of the 2012 Brinky Bowl!

I’m not sure how the NFL plans to decide the Superbowl champion now that the playoffs are over, but that’s their problem, not mine.
