Brinky Bowl Playoffs

The Brinky Cup has been decided and…I’ll be gosh darned if I can remember who won.  I don’t think it was me, so I’ve already forgotten which non-me it was.  All I know is that six competitors have qualified for the playoffs—Mario, Marcus, Lisa, Lee, Jenny and Tara—and one of those six will win the Brinky Bowl on Sunday, February 5th.  There are 11 games to be decided over the next month, and the first four are coming up this weekend.  The six playoffers must pick the following games by the start of the first game, 4:30 P.M. this coming Sunday:

  • Cincinnati Bengals at Houston Texans (Saturday, Jan 7 @ 4:30)
  • Detroit Lions at New Orleans Saints (Saturday, Jan 7 @ 8:00)
  • Atlanta Falcons at New York Giants (Sunday, Jan 8 @ 1:00)
  • Pittsburgh Steelers at Mighty Tebow Glorious Redeemers (Sunday, Jan 8 @ 4:30)

For each of the four games, I need from each player predictions for (1) winning team and (2) total points scored by both teams.  I’ll use total points as a tiebreaker if the playoff picks end in a tie—not like that would ever happen.  As always, picking against the Steelers is not permitted.  Alas for everyone else, this means Mario won’t be able to ride his Tebows into ignominy as he did at the end of the regular season.

  1. I have a student who is reading Tim Tebow’s ghostwritten autobiography right now. It was a Christmas present, and it is, by his admission, the first book he was ever willfully read. I’m not sure what to do with that.

    • What’s the title? Jesus Throws My Touchdowns? That would be a great title, actually, except that Tebow doesn’t actually throw touchdowns, or passes.
