Brinky Cup – Final Week

So that’s over.  Marcus needed to produce his best week of the season to secure a share of the 2011-2012 Brinky Cup, and that’s exactly what he did.  Lisa and Jenny also continued their hot streaks, both going 13-3 in the final week and steamrolling into the Brinky Bowl playoffs, and Tara wasn’t far behind with a 12-4 mark.   I went for boom-or-bust, and somehow ended up with neither.  Ruby and Justicole did what they do, but nobody did it better than Ruby from start to finish, and so the Bizarro Brinky Cup is hers yet again, and by a whopping 10-game margin.  Here are the complete Week 17 results:

  • 14-2 (1):  Marcus
  • 13-3 (2):  Jenny, Lisa
  • 12-4 (1):  Tara
  • 11-5 (2):  Dark Lee, Dark Mario, Reagan
  • 10-6 (2):  Lee, Mario the Elder
  • 9-7 (4):  Brinkley, Charlotte, Katie, Mario the Younger
  • 8-8 (3):  Jodi Ann, Justicole, Ruby

Brinky Cup Standings (Final):

Games Back
Dark Mario
Marcus
Lisa 2
Dark Lee 3
Jenny 6
Tara 11
Mario T.Y. 13
Lee 17
Mario T.E. 17
Jodi Ann 18
Brinkley 19
Charlotte 23
Katie 29
Reagan 29
Justin 36
Ruby 46

The Brinky Bowl playoffs are setting up interestingly.  Mario has been in the driver’s seat most of the regular season, but his 39 wins over the last four weeks are the lowest total among the six Brinky Bowlers.  I’m not much better—40 wins—and the co-champion, Marcus, is also in the bottom half with 42.  Lisa has 43 wins during the last month, but no one has been better during the stretch run than the last two Bowlers to get in: Tara, also with 43, and Jenny, with a stunning 47 victories.  Which will prevail—the steady hand, or the hot hand?  We’ll find out soon enough, provided I can determine a format (there’s still no picking against the Steelers and some kind of tie-breaker is probably needed).
