What Kills The Cat Shall Save The Baby

Brinkley is helping me thoroughly baby-proof the downstairs this morning.  For him, it is an exercise in unintended self-defense.  For me, it is the judicious use of baby curiosity in the battle against baby stupidity.  I undertook a preliminary sweep, knowing it would be inadequate, but trusting in Brinkley’s commitment to eating things that are inedible to close the gaps.  I’m following him around, waiting for him to try and grab, slap, or eat something.

Then I swoop in if swooping is called for.  So far, I’d say he’s enjoying himself.

That smile is likely to shrink when I tape down all the air registers this weekend.

    • He probably is a Cylon; wasn’t that the direction BSG went in? I’m a Cylon, you’re a Cylon, Lulu’s a Cylon. We’re all one big, happy Cylon family.
