The Meaning Of Jem

I mentioned something in the previous post about the meaning of life, specifically that it is about outmaneuvering and crushing one’s enemies.  This, of course, is true.  But there is more to it, and sometimes I need my inner Stalin to be challenged by my inner Jem.  So the meaning of life is really five-fold:

  • Glamour
  • Glitter
  • Fashion
  • Fame
  • Crushing of enemies

In no particular order.  I bet that it wouldn’t take Beria more than five minutes alone with Jerrica and a rubber truncheon to get us back to the one-fold meaning of life, but I’m going to pretend for right now that I don’t think things like that.

Incidentally, did you know that Lavrenti Beria did not die in 1953, as is commonly thought?  Here he is in his official Soviet photo, trying not to look like the worst person ever:

Here he is now, where he works for CNBC under the name ‘Ron Insana.’

Nice try, Lavrenti Pavlovich.  ‘Ron Insana’ doesn’t even sound like a real name.

  1. Ron Insana does just make me think he’s insane. I actually accidentally typed Ron Insane instead of Insana.

Was the end of that Jem episode as interesting as I thought it would be? I actually want to watch the rest.
